The hot seashores of Goa will soon witness the perfect blend of creativity and fashion of Internationally famous Designer, Pria Kataaria Puri, kick-starts Season 1 of Asia Resort Fashion Week with a Grand Opening Show on 13th April 2018. The 3-day grand affair is being held at the plush Cidade de Goa with celebrated designers such as Swapnil Shinde, Babita Malkani, Swati Aggarwal, label Trinetra and many more. ARFW is set to refashion summer style for everyone.   The event was planned in March, however, in order to gain maximum exposure from the press, and avoid the clash with national festival Holi, team ARFW decided to shift the dates to 13th, 14th, & 15th April 2018.

Lakme Fashion Week and IMG Reliance in collaboration with the United Nations in India hosted an action-oriented dialogue on the Northeast Region (NER). The dialogue opened the Sustainable Fashion Day and was followed by a curated show featuring six sustainable fashion designers from six Northeast states. The collaboration with the United Nations in India aims to boost the local sustainable economy of the NER. The event showcased the exciting potential of the region to mainstream stakeholders, including brands and designers,  highlighting the mutual benefits of doing business in the northeast. Ever since Pankaja Sethi graduated in Textile Designing from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi in 2001, she has been renowned for her research with Adivasi women and weavers of Odisha. Her ‘Pankaja’ label at 6Degree Studio at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018 was a panoply of patterns fused together in varied woven stories. Pankaja’s fortè has always been giving a contemporary twist to hand-woven textiles where the designs, weaves and stories come together in perfect unison. With a collection as interesting as it weaves, the underlying essence of the ensembles was to promote weavers from different parts of rural India. Designer Naushad Ali’s experiments with textiles turned into ideal summer wear in LFW 2018

Cool fabrics are the basis of great summer wear and no one knows it better than designer Naushad Ali whose knowledge of textiles made his Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018 collection quaintly called “When the Dot took a Walk” at 6Degree Studio, a ‘must have’ for the coming months. Inspired by artist Paul Klee, there was an intelligent use of fabrics; prints and colors to make the collection a talking point at most functions. Mud resist techniques were fused along with natural dye shades that came alive on the ramp in myriad hues of natural colors. Working with silk, bamboo cotton, crêpe and linen, Naushad remained partial to natural dyes and added interesting new shades of green, which he mingled with indigo, yellow, black, white, grey and red. Richard Pandav and Amit Vijaya, the designers behind the ‘Amrich’ Label at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018 once again made a striking impact with their handcrafted Shibori collection. Called “Ties That Bind”, there were separates in handmade, Khadi, silk and silk cotton blends with a metallic feel. In shades of mustard, brown, black, red, white and blue, the geometric prints were turned into relaxed silhouettes. Fluid bias cut skirts, metallic dolman sleeve cropped jackets, flowing kimono style robes, cropped Bermudas with simple white shirts, wrap covers and flared midis with capes shimmered on the ramp. ‘Half Full Curve’ brought sexy goddess fashion to LFW 2018

'Half Full Curve' was a show devoted to the sexy, voluptuous, goddesses of the world at 6Degree Studio during Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018. The ‘half Full CURVE’ label, which is the brainchild of Rixi Bhatia (of Quirkbox fame) and her sister Tinka, created the brand for the stylish Plus Size women who have been ignored by the fashion fraternity (except a few) for long. The label wanted women to flaunt their curves and that is what the collection was all about. Aimed at real women of varied sizes and shapes, the ensembles inspired by nature were devoted to Luxury Resort wear for the coming season.
