Our world is a changing place; it is constantly developing new characteristics in culture, visual aspects and history. As it changes, many views are lost and may never be found again. Freedoms and rights are being tested, and sometimes lost. The world as we know is changing rapidly for the worse because – hate and violence are on a social high as people are inflicting attacks on each other fuelled by hate, groups of people are being discriminated against and people are being labelled for what they are, not who they are. Hearing about an attack on a group of people or their place of dwelling are common event and are rarely shocking anymore. These attacks appear on many levels and in many forms. With the world’s deadliest Covid-19 outbreak, Italy was hard-hit by the pandemic in February 2020. North Italy evolved to be the epicenter of the pandemic and the world witnessed Army trucks that transported victims of the virus for cremation. Italy came to a stand-still throughout the spring 2020 with extreme restrictive country-wide measures imposed by the Italian government emphasizing everyone to ‘stay at home/ resta a casa’ which gained international praise. As a result of this, Italy was hailed as a model to the whole world as it battled this deadly virus. The BBC recently reported on the vigor with which India is rolling out its vaccines, whilst reminding us of India’s high rate of infections. “India has confirmed more than 11 million cases and over 157,000 deaths. The country has recorded the second-highest number of Covid-19 infections in the world after the United States” we are informed. However this is a partial picture. For while India has had many infections, the rate of infection compares favorably with large swathes of the rest of the world.
