(Giggling ) Well, I am Arathy K.B, currently ‘Starlife Miss Kerala 2021’. I am still a student pursuing B.Sc Filmmaking at Whistling Woods International, Mumbai. Well, to define me… mm… I would say, I am ambitious, passionate, and determined in whatever I do. That is one reason why I have many awards for dances to my pride. Being an aspiring filmmaker, I want myself to be seen in every column of art. I have already worked in many award-winning short films and documentaries.

Who is your greatest inspiration?

I believe every human being’s primary inspiration would be the people who gave birth to them. It is only because of my parent’s constant support and encouragement, I could do a lot in my 19 years of life, especially Miss. Kerala title. Both my parents are wonderful; their life is inspiring and their selfless service to the society inspires me to be a good human being.

Agreeing on that note, tell us more about your family!

My dad is Dr. Biju KR, MBBS, MD, DGO(GYNAE), Mch.Urology. EMS Co-Operative Hospital & Research Centre, Perinthalmanna, Malappuram District in Kerala and my mom is Dr. Janet. J, Ph.D. in Nursing & Ph.D. in Psychology. She is the proprietor of Daiwik Productions and has won numerous International & National Awards for her projects. She is also a proven film artist and a filmmaker.

Alright, coming back to the professional front, tell us about the great venues you performed at!

No matter how much I achieve, my school (Vidyaniketan ) will remain my favorite venue of all time because it is there that I started dancing and got recognition. I always embrace those 14 years I danced on that stage. As a stage lover, I make sure that I do my best in every performance – dance, music show, and drama. One among the crossroad moments in my life was Mr & Miss India- Kerala auditions at Cafe Papaya organized by renowned fashion director Jiss Victor and I represented Kerala to the finale. Training and guidance from Mr. Jiss Victor helped me a lot to achieve this title.

What is the most memorable and exciting thing you have ever seen in filmmaking or the film industry?

Everyone has a story to tell, no matter whether they are part of the film industry or not. After joining film school, I started nursing the love for listening to different stories from my friends and faculty. I never thought of going to film school. But the fact that I am now an aspiring filmmaker is because I believe that I have a purpose here. So every day, I believe, I have something to learn and strive upon. What I am going to say is that from the day I became a part of the film industry, I pamper a bunch of beautiful memories.

What is your dream project?

I don’t know exactly how to put it, but since my childhood, I always had a dream of building the world’s biggest dance academy and a sound studio simultaneously which will facilitate the creation of more artists in the world. I hope I can make it happen sometime in the near future.

Where do you think you will be after 10 years?

Wow, 10 years is a huge leap. Being optimistic and if viruses don’t affect us badly, I would love to run a successful film production house and make amazing movies that create some changes in society in a good way. I will be blessed to represent my Nation at the international levels in pageants. I also foresee myself as happily married and caretake a house with lots of pets and nature’s bliss.

What is that one message you would like to give to the aspiring youths?

‘Never take a permanent decision for a temporary feeling’. This saying helped me a lot in my life, so I hope it works the same for my generation as a whole. I will take this moment to tell each hard-working youth out there – remember that we always have the choice, a chance to change any situation.
